Jakarta, Gizmologia – Even though it was released earlier this year, the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s camera capabilities are still some of the best for this year’s flagship smartphone. To add flexibility in image capture, Camera Assistant is here to provide even more options.
The Galaxy S22 series camera application itself has indeed provided a variety of photo and video modes that can be used, both to make entertainment content more interesting and more “serious” through the built-in Pro mode. But this time around, there are several additional options Samsung provides to provide flexibility for those who like to capture moments from smartphones.
In addition to Camera Assistant, Samsung is also making an update to its separate camera application, which is Expert RAW. There are two additional modes you can try, namely the mode to capture the moment in the sky and the double exposure mode to produce more artistic photos. Both are still in beta, so the results aren’t optimal.

The face texture can be sharper thanks to Camera Assistant
Before discussing this new camera option, please note that Camera Assistant and the new Expert RAW features are currently only available to Galaxy S22 series users who are already using the latest One UI 5. Availability is also being rolled out gradually , so if you can’t get it, you can check it out periodically.
Although downloaded as a separate application via the Galaxy Store, Camera Assistant will be integrated into the default camera application of the Galaxy S22 series, which is the Settings menu. In it, there are many options that users can turn on or off. Everything? Some of these like automatic HDR mode, the option to record videos by holding down the shutter button, the number of photos taken when using the timer.
Camera Assistant also offers the option to smooth the edges of generally noisier photos and face photos, as well as the option to disable the system that automatically switches cameras, for example, not using the telephoto sensor in night conditions and taking advantage of zoom from the main sensor, called auto lens.
Another option is the faster shutter, which once activated will allow Galaxy S22 series users to take photos faster, but with the possibility of the photo quality decreasing. Users can also set the camera app timeout time in minutes, as well as the option to show camera preview only, without the shutter button and more when connected to an external display via HDMI.
It can take artistic photos via the new RAW expert
To increase Nightography capabilities, the Astrophoto option is presented in the latest Expert RAW application. As the name suggests, users can capture the movement of stars and night sky conditions more clearly and easily. Where the camera will use artificial intelligence and multi-frame processing to produce a quality image.
In addition to the ability to capture the night sky, Expert RAW is now also supported with multiple exposure mode, also known as double exposure. You can capture multiple photos, which are then combined into an artistic silhouette. The number of photos itself can be adjusted, from just two images to the rest. In this mode, Samsung invites smartphone camera users to explore abstract content.
As stated earlier, the latest Camera Assistant and Expert RAW options have just launched for the Galaxy S22 series. However, it is possible that it will arrive at other flagship series, such as Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4.
