The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the two calls for aid from the Ministry of Territorial Policy aimed at granting aid to local entities to alleviate the damage and recover the areas affected by the forest fires suffered last summer in several autonomous communities.
The subsidies will be used to finance projects directly related to fires carried out by town halls, provincial councils or single-province autonomous communities, counties and associations, in municipalities and population centers, relating to repair or restoration works. of infrastructures, equipment or facilities and services of municipal ownership. Repairs to the provincial road network will also be addressed, as explained in a statement by the Government Delegation in Andalusia.
All applications must be formalized electronically through the computer application ‘AURA-Subvenciones a EELL ante natural catastrophes’, accessible from the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Territorial Policy ‘https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/’ (Procedures – Grants), selecting the section dedicated to this call. For this, it is necessary that the legal representatives of said entities comply with the technical requirements specified in the aforementioned application.
AGREEMENT OF AUGUST 23
The agreement of August 23, 2022 on the declaration of an area seriously affected by a civil protection emergency included the territories that suffered forest fires in the months of June, July and August 2022, in the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, the Balearic Islands, The Canary Islands, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia, the Community of Madrid, the Region of Murcia, the Foral Community of Navarra, the Basque Country and La Rioja.
The maximum total amount of the subsidies in this call is 4,363,037.09 euros to finance projects directly related to claims carried out by town halls, island councils and councils, provincial councils or single-province autonomous communities, counties and the associations, in the municipal terms and population centers, related to the works of repair or restitution of infrastructures, equipment or facilities and services of municipal ownership. Affected local entities may submit their applications until January 30, 2023.
AGREEMENT OF JUNE 27
The agreement of June 27, 2022 on the declaration of an area seriously affected by a civil protection emergency, included the territories that suffered forest fires in the autonomous communities of Andalucía, Aragón, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Comunidad Foral de Navarra, Comunitat Valenciana and Region of Murcia.
The maximum total amount of the subsidies referred to in this call is 1,018,017.34 euros to finance projects directly related to claims carried out by town halls, island councils and councils, provincial councils or single-province autonomous communities, the counties and associations, in the municipalities and population centers, related to the works of repair or restitution of infrastructures, equipment or installations and services of municipal ownership. The affected local entities may submit their applications until January 26, 2023.
THE DEADLINES ARE REDUCED TO A THIRD
The Ministry of Territorial Policy has reduced the processing times for aid to local entities for natural disasters to a third of the time used in previous legislatures. If in 2015 it took 461 days until the publication of the call, in 2022 the processing period has been reduced to 148 days. In other words, the deadlines have been reduced to more than a third, despite the fact that the management of the pandemic and the economic consequences of the war have had to be faced in this period.
