Rates apply to shampoos, hair products, toothpastes, pre-shaves, aftershaves, deodorants and detergents.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation emphasized that the list includes positions for which there are high-quality analogues in the country. “The introduction of a complete ban on the supply of perfumery and cosmetic products from hostile countries, as well as an increase in duties on goods for which the range of domestic brands cannot fully meet the needs of consumers (perfumes, decorative cosmetics) is not still planned,” the ministry said.

The duty is also introduced on civilian weapons and ammunition. The list includes single-barreled weapons with smoothbore, combined weapons with smoothbore and rifled barrels, cartridges for smoothbore weapons, bullets for air rifles.

Hunting or sport shooting rifles, rocket launchers, pistols and revolvers for firing blanks, trigger pistols for the “humane” slaughter of animals will also be subject to excise duty, with the exception of sporting weapons and accessories imported for Russian national teams subject to confirmation of the target appointment by the Ministry of Sports.

The ordinance will go into effect next week.
