The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the ban on the import of a number of goods from the Russian Federation

Ukraine extended the embargo on Russian goods

The embargo will remain in effect for another year. Such measures were taken in response to similar actions by Russia.

The Ukrainian government extended the ban on the import of certain goods from Russia into Ukraine for another year. The corresponding decision was made during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday, December 23.

The list of goods that are prohibited from being imported into Ukraine includes:

  • meat (cattle, fresh or chilled, frozen, pork, edible offal of poultry);

  • fish (crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates);

  • buttermilk, curdled milk and cream, kefir and other fermented or fermented (bacterial cultures) milk and cream;

  • processed cheeses (except grated or powdered);

  • roasted coffee;

  • black tea (fermented) and partially fermented in primary packages with a net weight of not more than 3 kg;

  • cleaned, cut / uncut, or crushed / uncut grains;

  • food mixtures or products from animal and vegetable fats, oils or their fractions, except for edible fats, oils and their fractions;

  • oil fooz or fat residues, soap stock;

  • caramel, boiled sugar without fat additives, with or without filling;

  • cocoa-free sugar confectionery;

  • chocolate, candy and other prepared food products containing cocoa in the form of blocks, bars or bars with a filling;

  • prepackaged baby food products for retail trade;

  • products made from pasta dough, stuffed, uncooked or not prepared in any other way, without the content of flour or grains of soft wheat;

  • medicines;

  • clothes and more.

The explanatory note to the decision notes that the prohibitive measures were extended in response to similar actions of the Russian Federation.

The ban on Russian goods has been extended until December 31, 2022.

Recall that in December last year, the Cabinet of Ministers assessed volume of the embargo on Russian goods 18 billion hryvnia per year.

We will remind, in March, the Ukrainian government expanded the list of Russian goodsbanned for import into Ukraine. The list included wheat, sunflower oil, detergents, newsprint, toilet paper, cosmetic wipes, hand towels, tablecloths and napkins and other goods.

And in July Russia has extended the embargo on Ukrainian products… The list of products prohibited for import includes pasta, ice cream, carbonated and mineral water, sauces and others.
