The Business Community Mourns the Sudden Death of Denise Bombardier and Remembers Her Impact

The sudden death of Denise Bombardier also shakes the business community, where she had forged ties and even acted in a Saint-Hubert advertisement.

The chain of rotisseries that Jean-Pierre Léger grew had asked several personalities, such as Céline Dion, Guy Laliberté and several others, to participate in a television campaign that made a nod to their public image. Denise Bombardier had spontaneously agreed to make fun of herself in 2014 and, like the other personalities, she had paid her fee to charity. She had chosen to help vulnerable women.

“Denise, we had her announce the ribs. You can eat them with a knife and fork, but usually you eat them with your fingers and get dirty. The perception we have of Denise Bombardier is that she was a little precious. So, we asked her if she would agree to lick her fingers and she said: definitely! It was really cute!” remembers Jean-Pierre Léger, who followed the long career of M^me Bombardier with interest.

“I have always liked this woman with frank opinions”, says the one who listened in the afternoon to an interview of her with Stéphan Bureau.

“It’s still a monument that we lose… I have very good memories of her.”

Lise Watier mourns the loss of a friend

Denise Bombardier had also formed a friendship with Lise Watier. Both women were Quebec pioneers in their respective fields; the first in the media, and the second among entrepreneurs.

For me^me Watier, Denise was an irreplaceable character.

“He was a person of superior intelligence, a fighter who was not afraid of anything. She could be either very serious or very funny; a lesser known side of his personality. She had this boundless energy that I have always admired. Too sudden a loss!” said the founder of Watier cosmetics, offering her condolences to the relatives of her friend.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Development Bank of Canada and former Canadian Ambassador to France, Isabelle Hudon, also paid a heartfelt tribute to Denise Bombardier, who was for her a model allowing her to dare.

“She will have been for me, as for thousands of girls and women, not an example, but a model of ambition, determination, convictions and intellectual courage. She will have shown us how to say what we have and want to say. His greatest lesson: the robustness and strength of his arguments. She never left without having documented her ideas and thoughts.
