The business climate is back to its pre-lockdown level

The business climate in France rebounded sharply in December and returned to its level before the second confinement, business leaders being less pessimistic about the activity to come, reported Thursday Insee.

The synthetic indicator which reflects this business climate gained 12 points compared to November at 91, but still remains well below its long-term average which is 100, specifies the National Institute of Statistics.

The employment climate only gained 2 points to 86, well below its long-term average which is above 105. This small rebound is due, according to INSEE, to more favorable balances of opinion in trade. retail and non-interim services.

Questioned between November 27 and December 14, business leaders were “significantly less pessimistic than in November about the activity to come for the next three months, whether it is the activity of their sector as a whole or that of their own company “, details the institute in its press release.

This improvement is present in all sectors, whether manufacturing, construction, services or retail trade, further indicates INSEE.
