The church council has announced that the church tower should be completely rebuilt. The insurance has already agreed to cover the costs.
A company is currently working on repairing the damage caused by the extinguishing water in the nave. The Kleinschmidt Foundation had already pledged 100,000 euros for this. The total amount of damage is still unknown.
The congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Dionysius Church can stay in the Martin Luther Church in Bremerhaven-Wulsdorf until the end of the year. The church council announced this. It is still unclear when services can take place again in the Dionysius Church.
Looking for accommodation for the coming year
The church council is already in discussions with the Catholic community and TSV Wulsdorf about accommodation next year.
A week ago a fire destroyed the steeple of the oldest church in Bremerhaven. Fire investigators assume that a technical defect in the roof area caused the fire.
