In the second half of the table, numerous teams are currently fighting for relegation. Starting with the last FC Schalke 04, which is starting the new year with a new coach. 1. FSV Mainz 05 also has a new coach and is thus entering the race to remain in the Bundesliga. Newcomer Arminia Bielefeld is on the relegation rank for the winter break, just behind 1. FC Köln.
