“The Bulgarian military industry is the largest producer of ammunition (in the EU – white ed.), especially projectiles, which are extremely valuable for Ukraine. We produce as many shells as the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Romania combined. We produce about a quarter of what Russia produced in record 2017.”
This was stated by Tihomir Bezlov – chief expert of the “Security” program at the Center for the Study of Democracy in the program “Your Day” on NEW NEWS.
“If you look at Russian motivation, what is the most key place you would hit? All explanations until 2020 are technical incidents, human errors, coincidences, etc., explained Bezlov.
Bogdanov on the weapons depots: Security measures must be updated
“Keep in mind that we are an enemy country on the Russian list. Until 2014, we were an ally, including we were going to build a gas pipeline. The moment Putin (the Russian president – note ed.) gave up on him, this series of events began to happen,” Bezlov pointed out.
“We are at a very high risk because of the Russian point of view, which is quite rational. We should have had special measures already last year,” said Bezlov.

He emphasized that the Bulgarian services did not submit any information related to the incidents in the weapons factories, which was also confirmed by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov.
“The only data that we can trust, because the facts are indicated, are the investigation of Bellingket and a recording from the cameras in Mr. Gebrev’s garages,” reported Bezlov.
