The Bulgarian Government Betrayed the National Interest: BSP Leader Kornelia Ninova

The government betrayed the Bulgarian national interest. This was stated by BSP leader Kornelia Ninova during a briefing in connection with the lifting of the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain into our country.

“We ask ourselves how Poland, Romania, Slovakia, which are some of the biggest supporters of Ukraine, in this case fought back and defended their economy and agriculture,” said Ninova.

“We have always had a clear and consistent position. The subsidy given to grain producers should be redistributed and go to fruit, vegetable, milk and meat production. Don’t try to accuse us of protecting big businessmen. We are protecting the Bulgarian interest”, stressed Cornelia Ninova.

“The BSP is fully prepared for the election campaign, we adopted our platform and approved the candidates for mayors and the teams of municipal councilors”. She added that the BSP has decided to support the proposal of the Sofia City Organization in the person of Vanya Grigorova. We have an approved candidate for mayor and lists, as well as regional mayors, said Kornelia Ninova.

According to her, in the last 4-5 days, GERBs have expressed a desire in some places to support iconic red mayors for years.

“They received offers of support from GERB. This is another attempt by Borisov to break through the BSP, to suggest that agreements and coalitions are possible between GERB and the BSP, to use the BSP, but this time too it will not happen. We continue the battle for destruction of the GERD model at the local level”, emphasized Ninova.

According to her, support from GERB for BSP mayors will not be accepted anywhere. Ninova described the farmers’ protests as fair.
