Jacqueline Cohen replaced Ivan Yonchev, who is going for a long treatment
The Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) again has a new boss. Jacqueline Cohen has been appointed as executive director of the company, replacing the previous Ivan Yonchev. Cohen takes over the helm of the state holding from the board of the subsidiary NPP “Kozloduy”, where he was appointed in the fall of 2013. The health problems of the previous head of BEH, Ivan Yonchev, were cited as the reason for another reshuffle in the native energy sector. Because of his upcoming long-term treatment, he submitted a request to leave. “After conducting a number of consultations with doctors, they unanimously recommended that I undergo an operation. Since my recovery is expected to last a long time and this will lead to the inability to fully perform my official duties, I submitted an application to the Minister of Economy and Energy to released me from my position,” says Yonchev. After his treatment is over, he promises to continue working for the realization of the important energy projects for Bulgaria, including the 7th block of the Kozloduy NPP. Jacqueline Cohen will take up the vacant position as soon as it is entered in the Commercial Register, reports BEH.
In the meantime, it became clear that the agreement for the construction of the 7th unit at the Kozloduy NPP is ready and, in order to be signed, only the approval of the Minister of Economy Dragomir Stoynev is awaited. This was announced by the former head of BEH Ivan Yonchev. All the documents and the draft of the agreement itself have successfully passed the necessary corporate procedures in the Kozloduy NPP project company – New capacities, then in First Atomic itself, and finally in the parent company BEH. Thus, before the signing of the agreement with the American company “Westinghouse” there is only its approval by the principal of the listed companies in the person of the Ministry of Economy and Energy, explains Yonchev.
