/ world today news/ Since today a Bulgarian television presented the commemoration of March 3 in Edirne, during which the Bulgarian Consul General Vasil Valchev called on the guests to pay tribute to the fallen Turkish soldiers and canceled the cultural program, I found this report on the Edirne TV page.
After the liturgy in St. George’s Church, GK actually invites the guests to a restaurant. According to the Turkish reporter, the event “started with respect for the martyrs who died in Afrin and the folk dance show was cancelled.” Leading in the headline is that “Support for the “Olive Branch” operation is spreading like an avalanche, and the last one comes from an EU member state” Consul General Vasil Valchev “speaks on behalf of the Republic of Bulgaria”.
The video shows the Consul General offering his condolences to the relatives of the “victims” Turkey has given in Afrin. And actually calls the guests to stand and pay their respects.
It is not clear whether tribute was also paid to the Turkish soldiers who fell on Shipka. After all, there is talk only about “National Holiday”, not about “Liberation”. However, the case raises some questions:
– Is the consul authorized to make such political statements, since even the EC questions the upcoming meeting in Varna?
– Does the Consul General know what constitutes the violation of Article 2 of the UN Charter that Turkey has committed in Syria and that the number of children and civilians killed alone exceeds that of the Turkish military by tens of times?
– Why was the dance group invited after having to cancel its performance? The Turkish military operation started already on January 20.
– What were the instructions of Ambassador Nadezhda Neynski from Ankara, what was her role? What were the instructions from the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs?
If it is true, what the Bulgarian TV Scat claims (the replay is today at 11:30 p.m.) that a tribute was paid to the fallen Turkish soldiers in Shipka, then both Ambassador Neinski and the General Consul should be recalled. But even turning Bulgaria’s National Day into worship of the Turkish soldiers who died in Afrin is sacrilege. It is more likely that the Turkish side manipulated our diplomats and that they, like obedient boys, canceled the program of the dance group, and the consul’s statement was used as part of the propaganda for the military operation in Syria.
BULGARIAN SUPPORT TO AFRIN
Support for Operation Olive Branch, which has been ongoing in the Afrin countryside of Syria for 42 days, is growing like an avalanche. The latest support for the operation came from a European Union country across the border. BULGARIAN SUPPORT FOR AFRIN
