Eger is a city in which the traveler feels at home, even if it is actually his first time here. After all, the walls, bastions and dungeons of the Eger Castle are all thanks to the popular novel of our good old friend Géza Gárdonyi. In Eger, however, it is not only the castle that is worth seeing. Hungary’s only minaret is reminiscent of Turkish times, and the first building intended for a higher education institution in Megalmodo was built here at the time.
