Samsul Bahri (41), murderer Rangga (9) who prevented her mother DA (28) from being raped, died in the detention cell. Samsul died when he was about to be taken to the hospital.
“Last night around 12 o’clock he died in the cell room,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Langsa Police, Iptu, Arief Sukmo Wibowo, when asked for confirmation from reporters on Sunday (18/10/2020).
The police said that the day before, Samsul had been taken to hospital due to dehydration after not wanting to eat or drink. After undergoing treatment, doctors allowed Samsul to be taken back to prison.
“According to a cellmate, he really doesn’t want to eat and drink,” said Arief.
Last night Samsul was scheduled to be taken back to the hospital. However, the police found that the recidivist of the murder case was dead.
“The doctor has not provided information on the cause of his death. We want to do an autopsy but the family refuses,” said Arief.
Previously, Samsul was suspected of murder Rangga for shouting to prevent DA’s mother from being raped by the perpetrator. The incident occurred in Birem Bayeun District, East Aceh, Aceh, Saturday (10/10) in the morning.
