Could this finally be the right start in this season for Milwaukee? After their stunning victory against Boston just to celebrate Christmas, Mike Budenholzer’s troops lined up a fourth consecutive success by unrolling their basketball against the Magic of a Franz Wagner author of 38 points!
It is an understatement to say that the Floridians took to the water in the first half, overtaken by a 9-2 at the end of the first quarter, a sequence marked by the 3 + 1 of Donte DiVincenzo and the 3-points of Pat Connaughton (32-23).
It was then through a 14-0, with two missiles in quick succession from Bobby Portis and George Hill, that the Bucks took off (49-26). Orlando failed to stop the bleeding, being up to 29 lengths behind following new distant shots from Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis just before the break (72-43).
However, the Magic raised their heads after returning from the locker room, passing in turn a 19-0, fueled in particular by the missiles of the Harris-Gravett-Wagner-Carter Jr quartet (76-66). Insufficient despite everything to jostle the Bucks, started again after a good passage from DeMarcus Cousins and a dunk from Khris Middleton in counterattack.
The two lay-ups of Giannis Antetokounmpo then allowed the Bucks to start the last act with 15 lengths in advance (97-82) and to end the game without trembling, with the Holiday-Middleton-Antetokounmpo trio at the helm (26 points out of 30 in the fourth quarter for a 127-110 success).
WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER
– The successful start of the Bucks. In the wake of their last match, Mike Budenholzer’s troops left Orlando no chance. The second quarter took on the appearance of a 3-point competition with no less than eight exterior missiles which helped give the defending champion up to 29 points before the break …
– The address for great evenings. With the 31 assists compiled by Milwaukee, the outside address of the Bucks is the statistic that emerges with a 46% of the most neat, at 17/37 in the exercise. Note also the perfect 5/5 of Bobby Portis in the exercise.
TOPS/FLOPS
✅ Giannis Antetokounmpo. Heroic in the last game, against Boston, the “Greek Freak” this time “contented” to do the job and ensure the blow at the end with two baskets at the end of the third quarter and a non-profit. negligible in the last act alongside an equally precious Holiday-Middleton tandem, and punctuated by some beautiful flights along the way. The Bucks star did in mastery last night, making 28 points (at 10/19 on shooting), 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 30 minutes.
✅ Franz Wagner. The performance of the night that we weren’t expecting. The Magic rookie made a mess with his 38 points at 12/20 shooting, 4/8 on 3-point and 10/10 on the free throw. A brightening in the dark while the troops of Jamahl Mosley have yet accused their 17th loss in 20 games.
