The Brotherhood of Vallée Celebrates the Laying of the Foundation Stone for its Future Fraternity House

The brotherhood of Vallée held on Thursday afternoon the act of the laying of the foundation stone of its future fraternity housethus materializing the beginning of one of the most awaited projects of the Holy Thursday brotherhood. Thus, the brothers and sisters will be able to benefit from a place of meeting, gathering and coexistence, as well as other administrative functions and internal management of the brotherhood.

The eldest brother, Gonzalo Pérez de Ayala, took the opportunity to address a few words to all the brothers and faithful gathered together, thanking them for their presence and insisting on the historic nature of the event, given that the brotherhood does not has never had its own space to develop its daily life. The Reverend Nelson Borges Figueredo, priest attached to SARUS, blessed the premises which will “soon” be the space of the brothers. today and future generations.

After an invocation to the Virgin of the Valley, the first stone was laid, symbolized by an urn with the elements that represent brotherhood: a medal, a copy of the current regulations, a photo of the titular members, a photo album of many brothers who have collaborated in the project and a copy of the daily press. The construction works will be carried out by the company Italo Gestión de Obras y Servicios.

The desire to realize this ambitious project began at the end of 2020, when the brothers of the Valley approved in an extraordinary general meeting the acquisition of these premises, located on the ground floor, to make it a house of the fraternity. In February 2021, the corresponding notarial deeds of sale and mortgage of the property were granted, and two years later the works will begin definitively.

It is a building with a area of ​​100 square metersi.e. the entire ground floor of the building. This property adds to the heritage of the Brotherhood of Holy Thursday, which has had premises in rue Castellar since 1996, used as a warehouse to store its processional floats.
