With the intention of contributing and contributing its little grain of sand from the brotherhood world to something as important as blood donations so that hospitals do not lack this resource that is essential for life, the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows of Rota has taken a step forward.
With the new governing board chaired by Manuel García, one of the proposals that already haunted some brothers is fulfilled and that was to contribute to the mobile unit of the Transfusion, Tissue and Cell Center of Cádiz, which from time to time goes to Rota in search of blood donors, had a new point, closer to the area of the historic center, to continue encouraging citizens to donate.
The proposal, which has been welcomed very willingly by the Cádiz Transfusion Center, is now a reality and in the face of the next blood collection to be organized in Rota, Roteños will be able to donate not only in the Maestro Eduardo Lobillo schools and San José de Calasanz, which have been common points for years, but from now on, they will also be able to do so at the Casa Hermandad de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores.
The older brother of this brotherhood, Manuel García, has shown his satisfaction with the acceptance of the offer that was made from the governing board and trusts that the brotherhood world will turn to the donation of blood so that the hospitals do not lack reserves of this resource so necessary for many patients and their quality of life.
On October 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., in Calle Álvaro Méndez number 8, (in front of the “La Merced” car park), the doors of the Casa Hermandad de los Dolores will open to welcome citizens who want to donate blood . It will be in a space that has been enabled so that the mobile unit and the health personnel can comfortably carry out their work. In addition, and taking into account that donating blood is a gesture of generosity, the brotherhood has reached an agreement with the City Council of Rota through MODUS so that people who go to the center by car to donate, have the minutes it takes to Do it the free parking “La Merced”. In this way, we try to offer all the facilities to those who want to contribute with their blood to save the lives of others.
The dynamics will be easy, everyone who parks in this public parking lot must show their ticket when donating and it will be stamped by the brotherhood and when they present it at the parking payment window they will be rewarded.
It is expected that this more central point, in the historic center, will encourage more people to donate and especially, from the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Dolores, an appeal is made to the brothers of this and other brotherhoods of Rote to contribute to the good cause.
