Dismissing the possibility of holding primaries with the rest of the opposition, the FA decided to strengthen its participation in the next electoral cycle.
According to the slogan La Tercera, the Frente Amplio decided to bring their own candidate to the first round to be held in November 2021, leaving open the possibility of holding a primary within the coalition.
The decision was made after a meeting in the National Congress in which the DR’s chiefs of the bank, Giorgio Jackson; from Commons, Claudia Mix; of Social Convergence, Gonzalo Winter, and the deputies Vlado Mirosevic (PL) and Marcelo Díaz (Unir).
“The FA has to be a government so that the transformations that Chile needs are carried out. That is why we are determined to bring our own candidate to the presidential elections,” said Claudia Mix.
“We are preparing for the constituent, municipal challenge and also to carry an FA candidacy in the presidential elections,” Winter added.
It is worth mentioning that the Frente Amplio had already given signs that in the face of the constituent process, the bloc would seek to strengthen the role of Beatriz Sánchez as the figure of its campaign for the “approval” before the plebiscite of October 25.
