The British requested custody after a ship collision in the Baltic Sea

He is suspected of gross drink-driving at sea in connection with accidents.

The man was a crew member on the cargo ship Scot Carrier, which collided with the Danish cargo ship Karin Høj.

The Danish ship capsized. One of the two on board the vessel was later found dead. The other is still missing.

The prison meeting will take place in Malmö District Court on Thursday at 3 pm, the public prosecutor’s office informs.

A 55-year-old Croatian man was also arrested, but he was released on Wednesday morning.

The Danish ship, which has been towed closer to land, has begun to sink. As it moved and changed position, a small amount of oil leaked out, the Swedish Coast Guard states in a press release Thursday.

– Since yesterday, oil spills have decreased. In the next few days, the first priority is to ensure that there are no more leaks, says rescue leader Fredrik Gustafsson.

The rescue of Karin Høj starts on Friday morning and the plan is for the ship to be towed to Denmark.
