If they could, the British would choose return to the European Union, according to the latest YouGov poll. 56% of those questioned support this alternative because they believe it Brexit was a bad decision. Only 32% support it. The British are mired in several simultaneous crises, plus a recession that is fueling distrust of the prime minister’s government, Rishi Sunak.

Another poll by the same agency says the government is mishandling Brexit. Only 18% support managing Sunak. 36% of the population say Brexit is going badly and 23% say it is going pretty badly. Only 12% believe it is doing well, or very well. Discontent gained ground as the British began to hear the consequences of Brexit in their pockets.
