The British duo Oh Wonder will perform in March on the Hanseatic platform / Day

The concert tour originally planned for 2020 No One Else Can Wear Your Crown the duo had to relocate twice due to the pandemic, but despite all the restrictions, Oh Wonder the concert will take place.

The duo members Antonijs Vests and Josephine Vandera Gučta have been playing together since 2014. For a long time, the couple kept their relationship a secret. Last year, with the release of the film No One Else Can Wear Your Crown, their lives looked so charming: the couple was at a dog, a dream home with a recording studio, and were about to go on a world tour with 120 concerts. But everything was stopped by a pandemic.

Like any of us, we had to lock ourselves in four walls. It was a difficult time without new impressions, inspiration and travel, and music was at times the only salvation. So far, accustomed to large audiences and countless trips, during which mostly also made Oh Wonder songs, the time of pandemic self-isolation was particularly difficult. The duo was on the verge of divorce. Unable to talk about the lingering problems, the couple revealed to each other their fears and intimate experiences through songs. The result was an album 22 Break, whose title track and video has reached listeners on September 22nd. The album tells the story of a relationship between two people and the difficulties the couple faced during the pandemic.

While writing the songs for the new album, the couple did not realize that they were really talking about the collapse of the relationship and divorce. “We found ourselves in ignorance of who we are: a group, a couple or two individuals? Do we really love each other, or are we just bound by music?” survivor explains Josephine. Surviving this pain through music, they managed to maintain their relationship – recently the two even exchanged rings.

Such honesty and sharing with the most intimate is a real rarity that is also valued internationally – Oh Wonder account is almost 3 million Spotify auditions, 2 million copies of albums sold, collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert and Nikiju Mināžu. Even Billy Eilish performed the duo’s composition in his documentary All We Do.

The duo’s concerts are full of intimacy and tenderness, and the beginning of spring is the right time to experience it. Also themselves Oh Wonder longing for a meeting with our listeners – we were all part of a pandemic and experienced similar difficulties. It is finally time to come back to life and enjoy the beautiful moments together.
