The British duo “Hurts” – Music returns with a concert in Riga

With a concert at Arena Riga next spring, March 25, the favorite British duo “Hurts” will visit us again. The tour, which covers 17 countries and cities as diverse as London and Vladivostok, is subordinated to the band’s latest, now fifth album, “Faith”.

Although the release of the album is scheduled for September 4, since May 15, when the fans were delighted by the first single Voices, it has been followed by 2 other compositions every month – Suffer and Redemption, and just like the released Somebody. Thus, the listeners can already have a clear idea of what can be expected from the return to the roots expressed by the participants of the duo. There is no doubt that for the already rich pleiad of previous hits – Wonderful Life, Better Than Love, Stay, Sunday, Blood, Tears & Gold, Illuminated, Miracle, Somebody To Die For, Blind, Surrender, Some Kind Of Heaven, Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us, Wings, Rolling Stone, Wish, Beautiful Ones, Ready To Go – new ones will join.

In an interview with NME, the group’s soloist Teo Hachkrafts explains: “We wanted to get back to the essence, to what we do and who we are. We had to fall in love with the style of music we originally planned to create. unusual time for it [albuma] but also good, because the songs have a message that gives hope. It’s about the ability to change and deal with these things. Hopefully people will find it there “.

And indeed, at a time when even the release of new songs has become less common, the whole album confirms both the boys’ creativity and faith in the positive and the desire to cheer up. Both the listeners and themselves.

We would like to remind you that the duo “Hurts” was founded in Manchester in 2009 by vocalist Theo Hatchcrafts and multi-instrumentalist Adam Anderson. The band’s calling card has become an elegant, slightly alienated style of dress, great melodies typical of the 80s rather than today, often a gloomy but intriguing textual mood, which is accentuated by vocals pierced with aches and despair. The importance of elegant videos, which are often characterized by surprising twists and turns, cannot be denied either.

“Hurts” gained recognition immediately with the debut album “Happiness” released in 2010. Six singles from just one disc topped the various European charts. The album gained Gold status in Great Britain and Austria, and Platinum – in Germany, reaching at least the top ten in 12 European hit shows. Including the 2nd place in Latvia.

With the next albums, Exile (2013), Surrender (2015) and Desire (2017), the association continued to strengthen its position in the pop music Olympia.

Ticket sales will start on August 7 at 11.00 in the whole “Biļešu serviss” network and www.bilesuserviss.lv
