The British Army is testing chatGPT-enhanced robots

Robots used in combat exercises would be armed by the British army with ChatGPT, which is being talked about a lot these days.

It’s been more than a year since ChatGPT, the chatbot developed by OpenAI, burst into the public consciousness, and since then hardly a week or even a day has passed without it appearing in the columns of newspapers. Now the sites wrote about it in connection with the British army, as it turned out that British soldiers will soon be able to practice on robots smartened up with ChatGPT.

The chatbot would be equipped with SimStriker, developed by a company specializing in combat training called 4GD, which helps train the British Army’s 16th Airborne Brigade – writes the Interesting Engineering. Dubbed SimStriker, the combat robots are equipped with sensors that record the force and accuracy of hits, providing useful feedback for evaluating soldiers’ performance. In addition, the machines also have sophisticated instruments that detect movement, light and sound, can react loudly to an attack, sound an alarm, or even launch a counterattack. And soon they will be able to communicate.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom, the purpose of integrating ChatGPT is to simulate attacks as realistically as possible, so that soldiers can also be more prepared for real situations. According to the developers, however, with ChatGPT, efficiency is not only increased: training also becomes more fun.
