“Sometimes you just have to take a break,” said the actress, who plays Marina Thompson on the Netflix series.

This Thursday, May 26, actress Ruby Barker, who plays the character of Marina in the first season of the cult series “The Bridgerton Chronicle”, shared snippets of her daily life via her Instagram account. And not just any daily newspaper, since it was live from her hospital room that the 25-year-old young woman decided to open up about her mental health and be honest with herself and her subscribers.

“I want to survive and I will survive, I will. »

In a video, Ruby Barker therefore decided to take stock of her state of health and to confide her frailties, even if she refused to give the details of her hospitalization and the diagnosis which is hers. However, the young actress wanted to speak about her mental health in order to lift a taboo, and she promised to do so more often.

“Mental Health Week is every week for me. I feel like I haven’t been completely honest, so this is for my followers. It’s time to be transparent. I’ve been fighting since ‘Bridgerton’, that’s the truth. Thank you all for supporting me, your love means a lot to me,” the actress captioned her video in which she explains her difficulty in discussing her mental health issues and her desire to get better: “How are you really going? Me, I’m better, I really wasn’t well for a long long time and to be honest, I had to fight […] I’m going to take a short break and encourage those who need it to do the same. Don’t be hard on yourself. »

Supported by Netflix and by Shonda Rhimes, creator of the series, Ruby Barker did not hesitate to thank her for her help.
