The Bretn de Logroo theater screens this Sunday, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the Film Series in the original version subtitled in Spanish, the French film ‘Hold me tight’ by director Mathieu Amalric. This feature film was selected in 2021 for the Official Section of the Cannes Film Festival and won the Las nuevas olas Special Award at the Seville Festival.

This is the story of a woman, Clarisse, married with a daughter and a son, who one morning leaves home to embark on an aimless journey, leaving her husband Marc and the children. After her escape, life goes on: her husband now prepares the breakfasts, her daughter Lucie dedicates herself body and soul to her piano lessons and Paul, her youngest son, does not stop becoming questions.
Meanwhile, Clarisse drives away to the sea and imagines the children growing up and Marc growing old without her. But perhaps it is not really a flight forward. Maybe Clarisse just wants to start over, make up a new ending.
‘Hold me tight’ is a beautiful work about the tear of separation and loss, a reflection on pain and repair.
