Emilija Pavlovska introduced her dream of musical theater studies to a wider audience last summer, creating a charity campaign, the culmination of which was the “Dream of Broadway” concert.
“My dream has become a reality, because with the help of the donated funds, I spent the last academic year in the heart of musicals in New York. I’ve been studying musical theater full-time for a year at one of the world’s best and most prestigious musical conservatories. During the summer vacation, I am in Latvia to give a concert here and share my impressions of the great musical metropolis of New York,” says Emīlijas Pavlovska about the concert.
The upcoming musical singer conceived the concert “Meeting place – New York” as a concert with memories of what she experienced in New York. Emilija Pavlovska will share her dreams for what lies ahead and ask for support for the continuation of her dream, that is, in order for Emilija to continue her studies at the Manhattan School of Music, financial support is also needed in the future. On August 3, the elegant music and drama space “OratoriO” will turn into a cabaret in a narrow street of New York. The concert will include popular Broadway musical pieces from shows such as “Les Miserables”, “Phantom of the Opera” and “Cabaret”, as well as popular melodies from musical performances by Latvian composers. from “Agrā rūsa” (Jānis Lūsēns), “Adata” (Zigmars Liepiņš) and “Māsa Kerija” (Raimonds Pauls).

Twenty-one-year-old Emīlija Pavlovska is the first young woman from Latvia to enroll in the musical department of the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, where she will begin her second year of bachelor’s studies in musical theater in September. The school where the young woman studies is located in the birthplace of musicals in New York, and among the teachers are such Broadway stars as the winner of four Tony Awards (Boyd Gaines) and vocal teacher Andrea Green (Andrea Green), whose students played in the musical “Aladdin” , “The Lion King”, “Hamilton” and others. Emilija played responsible roles in such productions in Latvia as in the concert performance “Kaupēn, Mans Mīļais” (“Producentu grupa 7”, dir. Paula Pļavniece) in the role of Kate, as well as brilliantly played Maureen in the musical “RENT” (“You already know where”, dir. Mārtiņš Kagainis). During the last year, while studying in New York, Emily participated in readings of the play “Quarantine Kills” and the musical “Valentino”.
