The upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be released until 2023.
This was announced by Zelda director Eiji Aonuma on social media on Tuesday afternoon, as you can see below. The plan is to release the game once in the spring.
Not named yet
The upcoming sequel is popularly called Breath of the Wild 2, but has not really received a title yet. Last year Nintendo even mentioned this in an interview.
– Regarding why we keep the name, you just have to wait and see because Zelda names are of course quite important. Those subtitles are starting to give small hints about what might happen, Nintendo said at the time.
So far we know little about the game. One of the things we know, however, is that the world is expanding to include floating islands in the clouds. In addition, Link will have a number of new tools to handle, including a flamethrower, and something that allows him to pass through walls.
The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is released on the Nintendo Switch.
