This weekend, the teddy bear created by the writer Zane Zusta will go to Cēsis to tell the children of Cēsis how not to get lost and how to act in other situations when a lot of courage is needed in the performance show of director Ģirts Šulis’s objects “Ucipuci is looking for a home”, Liepaja Theater informed in a press release.
The lovely and brave owl Ucipuci, known to many preschool and primary school children from Zane Zusta’s books “Ucipuci is looking for a home” and “Ucipuci thinks outside the box”, has made it possible for the paper puppet theater embedded in the book to “get off” on the real stage. in the theater.
The performance staged at the Liepāja Puppet Theater will be shown to Cēsis spectators on September 5 at 12.00 in the CATA Culture House.

The story of the owl is very useful at a time when many children have started school and kindergarten. The show reveals useful truths of life without unnecessary moralization. Just like a small guide to behavior, the show helps to prepare for various life situations – travel, a situation when you want to take your loved one with you, but it disappears when you or a friend have lost yourself in a little-known place. The main character of the show is the toy owl Ucipuci, who has been lost in Italy during a family trip and is experiencing exciting moments, looking for a way home to his owner – a boy Kriša.

The artist Evija Timma-Novik has moved the illustrations of the book to the scenography of the show, but the puppeteers Laura Rutkovska and Kristīne Dekovice, creating Ucipuci, spider, mosquito and circle, have tried to create similarities with the images of the children’s favorite book. Mikus Frischfeld has dressed up the show and composed “sticky” songs. But the video allows you to follow every step of Ucipuci and see everything that the owl itself sees from the bed, box or closet. Actors Pēteris Lapiņš and Ilze Jura manage to beat a lot during the performance, embodying almost ten characters of the story. The actors masterfully reveal the compelling plot of the show, both by acting with dolls and by singing and ingeniously moving.
