The director mercilessly cut the series.
The creation of Zhora Kryzhovnikov “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt” is rightfully called the main TV series hit of the year. The film was watched by millions of people – both young people and representatives of the older generation. The series was highly appreciated by both viewers and critics: reviews praised the acting, the atmosphere and the meticulous work of the screenwriters.
The creators managed to show a strong, heart-warming story. To do this, I had to work hard on the plot, leaving only the most important things. Screenwriter Andrei Zolotarev said that numerous scenes of the heroes’ gatherings went under the knife. Episodes were cut so as not to “break the pace” of the story.
The director of the film insisted on this. Kryzhovnikov found it unnecessary to have a detailed demonstration of how the boys behave, what they say and how they react to the words of their comrades. The final episodes, the seventh and eighth, were also changed: all because of materials leaked to the Internet.
