On Tuesday, 22-year-old Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito was found dead near the border of the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The FBI confirms that Petito was killed, writes The Guardian.
Petito, who was traveling with his girlfriend Brian Laundrie, was reported missing on September 11. It turned out that Laundrie had returned to the couple’s home, which they share with Laundrie’s parents, 10 days earlier. Petito was not with him.
The neighbors responded
Now the family’s neighbors, Charlene and William Guthrie, claim that they observed Laundrie and his parents packing their things and leaving their home in a caravan the same day Petito was reported missing by his mother.
– I saw that they were doing something, before they started packing and left with the caravan, William Guthrie tells Fox News.
The neighbors were surprised that the couple was going on a camping trip with their adult son in such a small caravan.

Brian disappeared
Just hours after Brian and his parents allegedly left the property, police arrived at the house. There, they are said to have made several investigations, including of Petito’s van, which was on the property. On September 15, four days after the neighbors allegedly saw the family leave, 23-year-old Brian Laundrie was also reported missing. It was the parents who reported their son missing.
Neighbors do not know if Laundrie returned from the camping trip with his parents, but no one has observed him. They have reported the incident to the police, who do not want to comment on the case.

Embark on a journey
Petito and Laundrie set out on a trip in July, and were scheduled to end their trip in the state of Oregon in October. They were supposed to document their trip on Instagram, but barely two months after they set out on a trip, Gabby disappeared.
On August 12, the couple had been stopped by police in the state of Utah after a report of violence. A police video shows an upset Petito explaining that she had beaten Laundrie in an argument. The police asked them to spend the night apart, but did not open a case.
The last safe sighting of Petito was when the couple checked out of a hotel in Salt Lake City on August 24. One week later, Laundrie arrived at her parents’ house in the van the couple had set out on a trip in, and two weeks later, Petito was found killed. Laundrie is still missing.
