On Saturday December 18 and Monday December 20, the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté food banks received from Carsat Bourgogne-Franche-Comté non-perishable foodstuffs such as ready-made meals, pulses, canned fruit, etc.

For example, more than:

  • 4,050 liters of sunflower oil,
  • 2,520 kg of cuckoos,
  • 1,100 kg of ground coffee,
  • 1,680 kg of powdered sugar,
  • 400 kg of green beans,
  • 384 kg of peaches in syrup,
  • 187 kg of veal blanquettes.

Food banks estimate that they can provide thousands of meals with this donation; enough to meet the essential needs of the 91,900 beneficiaries in the regions.

“First of all, I would like to thank Carsat BFC for supporting food banks in Franche-Comté. This aid in terms of products will be added to those resulting from the collection and will make it possible to respond with more diversity to the requests of distributing associations. “ Mr. Gilles Lelievre, President of the Franche-Comté Food Bank.

“First of all, I would like to thank Carsat for the donations you are making again this year for the benefit of the Food Bank of Burgundy. We thank you for this donation in favor of the most disadvantaged. “ Ms. Beutin, departmental delegate of the Food Bank of Burgundy.

Why this support for food banks?

The Covid-19 crisis has reinforced the precariousness and isolation of audiences already socially or by age weakened. Through its public service missions, Carsat BFC has always fought against this phenomenon of social isolation. The action of food banks helps to foster links while providing food aid.

It was obvious to support them and Carsat therefore contacted them to find out their needs.

As a regional player driven by values such as solidarity, Carsat Bourgogne-Franche-Comté wanted to make a useful contribution.
