The boules pitch welcomes a European champion

Cindy Peyrot is preparing for the world championship in Bagnols.

The Christian-Ville boules pitch is open at the discretion of Cindy Peyrot so that she can prepare for her new season. Who in the Rhône-Alpes region can display such an extensive international prize list? Undoubtedly, with her four titles of European Champion Espoir and Senior, Cindy Peyrot should hardly fear the competition. And just for her, so that she can prepare as well as possible to join the French pétanque team, the City of Bagnols grants her access to the card, two to three per week, at the Christian-Ville boules pitch.

“A left arm of fire”

With Cindy Peyrot, it is important not to be fooled by appearances. Because beneath her slender physique, the young 27-year-old bowler hides a ruthless shooting dexterity! “A left arm of fire”, does not hesitate to write a surfer on the Facebook page of the player which has 18,000 subscribers. This Stéphanoise by birth, licensed in Cazères (Haute-Garonne), living in a town near Bagnols, has a membership card from ASBM Pétanque, a section headed by Alain Donnadieu.

The covered bowling alley in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, mainly devoted to bowling, includes a section for pétanque. It is in this space that the high-level athlete, an expression she prefers to “elite”, begins her preparation for the world championships in her discipline which will take place next November in Thailand. And because she needs “of a carrot” to train, because by her admission, she is reluctant to train regularly – “for three weeks, I haven’t played” – she pointed out, she will participate in her first competition of the year at the end of this month of January. Maxime Couston, first deputy mayor, in charge of sports, did not hide his pride in opening the bowling alley to this champion: “Bagnols knows how to welcome the champions and it’s a pleasure to do so.”

Alain Donnadieu, the president of ASBM Pétanque, hopes the participation of the champion in two meetings that the club organizes, the Mario challenge and the Bernard-Broche challenge. And that she can also give her advice to young players at the boules school, on Wednesdays, which are perhaps not a good time to keep things straight, but to do it!
