The boss of Xiaomi revealed the flexible Mix Fold 3 ahead of time
According to him, it should be thin, elegant and premium.

Next week, Xiaomi will introduce the third generation of the flexible smartphone Mix Fold. The Chinese manufacturer will follow up on last year’s Mix Fold 2, which impressed the competition with its thin and light body, high performance and high-end cameras with the Leica brand. This year’s model will understandably want to push all these aspects a little further.

We no longer have to speculate about when the Xiaomi Mix 3 will be presented – according to the newly published invitation, the premiere is scheduled for next Monday, August 14, the event will start at 13:00 our time.

In the trailer, Xiaomi claims immodestly that with the upcoming novelty it will define a new standard for flexible displays, which probably means redesigning the hinge mechanism and tying it to the flexible panel. We would undoubtedly be pleased with the higher resistance of the flexible display to scratches, but we do not expect progress here yet.
The head of Xiaomi Lei Jun himself spoke about the upcoming news on the X network. According to him, it is not enough that a flexible smartphone is only thin and light, it is important to ensure that it has no flaws. And that’s exactly what the Mix 3 is supposed to be – Jun describes it in three words as thin, elegant and premium. In order to prove his words, the boss of Xiaomi published a video and several pictures in advance revealing the upcoming phone from almost all sides. More press pictures then snapped the Ice Universe informant.
Mix Fold 3 looks like a classic book-type folding smartphone, which, according to the video, impresses with its pleasantly thin body. The wing itself when open isn’t much thicker than the USB-C port, so it’s likely that the Chinese manufacturer will manage to squeeze the phone’s thickness below 1cm.
The Mix Fold 3 is unlikely to make any compromises in terms of camera. On the back, we find a rectangular photo module, from which four separate lenses will emerge. A rectangular prism is visible under one of them, thus confirming earlier speculation about the deployment of a periscopic telephoto lens. The detail of the photo module also reveals that the assembly used will cover focal lengths of 15-115mm, and that once again Leica was instrumental in the development of the camera.

According to earlier speculations, Xiaomi will not make compromises in other equipment either – the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, wireless charging is not missing, and not even increased durability.
Unfortunately, the previous two generations of Mix Fold did not come to the Czech Republic, so we can only hope that Xiaomi will make an exception for this year’s model.
