Jakarta –
Arief Harsono, the Samator Group’s boss, has died. Samator is one of the largest gas companies in Indonesia.
Manager of Legal Samator Group Surabaya Headquarters Valentino Januar Krismanto revealed that Arief Harsono died on Friday, July 2, 2021 at around 21.30 WIB at Adi Husada Hospital – Undaan Surabaya.
“Information from Mrs. Imelda Mulyani Harsono, her daughter, our direct supervisor, was exposed to COVID-19,” he said when contacted detik.com, Saturday (3/7/2021).
Entrepreneur from Surabaya, Hermanto Tanoko, also shared the sad news through his Instagram account. He told about Arief’s journey in establishing Samator with facilities of more than 50 oxygen factories and 100 filling posts.
Then Samator is also able to provide a range of gas products and services to meet market demand with the largest and widest distribution network in Indonesia.
“Samator Group has grown into a Multi Trillion Rupiah company with >3,000 employees. In 2004, Samator aggressively expanded its industrial gas business by acquiring PT Aneka Gas Industri,” said Hermanto.
Hermanto also said that Arief is active as Chairman of the Indonesian Buddhist Association, Chairman of the Indonesian Industrial Gas Association, Chairman of APINDO DPP East Java, Chairman of DPP Walubi, Chairman of STAB Maitreyawira, Chairman of the PBMI Assembly DPP, Chairman of the LPTGN Central Management & Deputy Chairman of PBVSI IV.
He said that on June 25, he asked about the condition of COVID-19 and the adequacy of oxygen in Indonesia.
“He replied that it looks like it will continue to increase until mid-July, indeed all oxygen producers are overwhelmed with gas cylinders and transportation. ‘So these past few weeks I have been busy coordinating the lack of oxygen in West Java, Central Java and East Java hospitals so I kind of forget to take a break’, Pak Arief replied like that,” he said.
Then Herman said Arief was one of the people who tried to meet the oxygen needs in Indonesia. Even a few months ago with a number of entrepreneurs Arief donated oxygen gas cylinders to India. Thanks to his persistence, Indonesia is independent in the field of oxygen.
“Thank you and good luck friends, partner, a great role model Mr. Arief Harsono, he has helped thousands of people in the vaccination program and is busy every day coordinating the allocation of oxygen by traveling to all hospitals in Indonesia. Hopefully Mr. Arief Harsono late. died peacefully & was accepted by Him and his wife, children, family left behind were given strength and fortitude. We will always remember his services and legacy,” he explained.
