Sharing photos using social networks is something so common that it rarely deserves attention. But when it appears on a Chinese social network weibo.com Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei at the time, it’s an interesting spectacle. Especially when the shared photo makes no secret of the fact that it comes from the Huawei P60 Pro phone.
An image of a skyscraper in Shenzhen topped by a broadcasting tower with the moon in the background is accompanied by the telling text: “The full moon is two days away and a random shot of our new soon-to-be-launched phone is a blast!” The quality of the camera in this particular shot is a testament to its dynamic range: it was able to handle the brightly lit tower while still capturing detail on the lunar surface.
The image will likely come from the telephoto lens, which features a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor and a 3.5x zoom lens. Interestingly, this sensor is said to have a RYYB color filter, a long-standing specialty of Huawei.
