USR President Cătălin Drula said on Thursday evening that the head fired from the TAROM company was Interior Minister Lucian Bode’s man, reports news.ro
“This gentleman was brought to Tarom by Lucian Bode in 2020. I found him there. I tried to work with him for a few months, he showed very limited competence and I replaced him. We brought in a Tarom professional, the Mr. Prunariu, he’s a Tarom pilot, he’s a professional. It was changed after I was no longer in the ministry. Mr. Grindeanu brought back Lucian Bode’s man. Was it a favor for Lucian Bode? It wouldn’t be legal, because we have an ordinance on corporate governance. (…) It can be seen that in all these companies, appointments are made on the basis of completely different criteria than competence,” said Cătălin Drula, according to the USR press release.
The former USR Minister of Transport recalled that during his tenure he appointed professionals to the boards of directors of subordinate companies.
“I invite anyone who wants to see, that this is public information, which I have also appointed to the Board of Directors of Tarom. I just say as a general note: people from Romanian business, who have made a name for themselves, people from companies with an international reputation” Drula added.
TAROM chief financial officer Costin Iordache was named the company’s interim general manager on Wednesday, following the end of Mihăiţă Ursu’s chief executive officer mandate, the Transport Ministry announced. At the time of his appointment, Iordache held the position of Chief Financial Officer within the company.
