Former US President Donald Trump maintained contact with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin after he left the White House, according to Bob Woodward’s next book “War”.
Less than a month before the US presidential election, the book shows the personal relationship between Trump and Putin.
The book also reveals that Trump secretly sent rare Covid-19 testing equipment to Putin for his personal use in the early stages of the pandemic.
CNN reported that Trump sent several Covid-19 test kits to Putin, and the New York Times reported that he sent Putin “rare” Covid-19 tests.
“Please don’t tell anyone you sent me,” Putin told Trump, apparently fearing political damage to Trump, according to the book.
Woodward writes, citing an unidentified Trump aide, that the former president and Putin have had “perhaps as many as seven” talks since Trump left office in 2021 .
