In an interview with the Ask Me program on CBC, Salwa Othman spoke about the egg diet, which led to her losing 14 kilograms in just two weeks, by eating 4 eggs a day.
Types of egg diet
There are many types of egg diet, the most prominent of which is the boiled egg diet only. The egg diet in all its forms depends on eating 3 main meals a day and eliminating snacks.
1. Eggs only
This type depends on eating only eggs throughout the diet! However, it is considered a crash diet that may lead to malnutrition.
It is also prohibited to exercise completely while following this harsh type of egg diet, because the body is in a constant state of fatigue and exhaustion.
2. Flexible egg diet
This type of egg diet requires following the following rules and steps:
- Eat one serving of eggs daily as a main meal at any time of the day.
- The two main meals should be rich in proteins, such as chicken and fish, and at the same time contain a very small amount of carbohydrates from healthy sources, such as broccoli, spinach, and various vegetables.
- Do not eat fried or scrambled eggs (only boiled eggs are allowed).
- Follow this diet for 14 days.
- It is prohibited to eat snacks or drinks that contain high amounts of calories.
3. Egg and grapefruit diet
In this type, you can eat one or more meals of eggs daily, provided that you always eat grapefruit with eggs.
Grapefruit is also the only fruit allowed to be eaten during the diet, which usually lasts for 14 days.
