The Bohemian. Josef Mysliveček’s story enters Czech cinemas. We bring an interview with the creators and a new review

The long-awaited film The Bohemian arrives in Czech cinemas. The historical feature film portrays the most famous Czech composer of the 18th century, Josef Mysliveček, and his Italian ups and downs. Hear a new review by publicist and critic Jana Podskalská and a current interview with the creators.

The historical story was told by director Petr Václav and the music of the film was recorded by the famous Collegium 1704 group with Václav Luks. The main character was played by Vojtěch Dyk. The character of Caterina Gabrielliová was lent the voice by the opera singer Simona Šaturová.

Josef Mysliveček’s work will also be commemorated on the Vltava River on Saturday 22 October, from 8 pm, with an opera evening with the Adam and Eva oratory. Tomáš Pilát will speak with director Petr Václav in Vizitka on the same day starting at 5pm. On Sunday 23 October, from 4.30 pm, we will present the film Il Boemo in the Klapka program.
