The body of a man swept away by a flood on January 20, while trying to cross a stream in the municipality of Curtea de Argeş, was found on Sunday in the Zigoneni reservoir, approximately 10 kilometers downstream, informs Agerpres.

According to the Argeş County Police Inspectorate (IPJ), the authorities were notified, through 112, that the body of a person is floating in the water of the Zigoneni reservoir on the Argeş river.

“Policemen and firefighters went to the scene to extract the body from the water. Following the checks carried out by the policemen, it was established that the person found dead is a 49-year-old man from Curtea de Argeş, whose disappearance had been announced since of January 20. From that date until now, the man has been searched for by mixed teams made up of policemen, firefighters and volunteers”, states a statement from the institution.

According to the same source, the cause of death will be established after the medico-legal autopsy, and investigations continue to establish all the circumstances in which the death occurred.

On January 20, the firefighters were requested to intervene in Curtea de Argeş municipality, Izvoru de Apă street, to search for a person who fell into the Valea Iaşului stream. The searches continued in the following days, but without success.
