The Attorney General of Nuevo León confirmed this Friday that the body found on Thursday night does correspond to the young Debanhi Escobar, 18, who had been missing for almost two weeks.
In a video message, prosecutor Gustavo Adolfo Guerrero said that the young woman died from a severe blow to the head.
“The scientific tests carried out allow us to communicate that the body found is Debanhi Susana, the cause of death being deep skull contusion,” said the official.
“At this time, no line of investigation is ruled out in this case,” he added.

According to the prosecutor, the institution under his charge will use “all resources” to clarify what happened with Debanhi.
The body was located Thursday night inside a cistern. Mario Escobar, father of the young woman, claims to the authorities that he was found in an area that had already been checked.
Debanhi’s disappearance occurred in a context of violence against women in the state. Civil organizations warn that one of the characteristics of the situation is a growing tendency to the disappearance of young people and even minors.
