The Board spreads Andalusian music and cinema internationally with the ‘Suntracks’ program

The counselor of Culture and Historical Heritage, Patricia of the Wellpresented this Wednesday at the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville the program ‘Suntracks’a novel initiative that will bring together, from April 26 to 29 in different patrimonial spaces of the Seville capital, a dozen of international music supervisors con Andalusian music and film professionals with a view to establishing lines of business and cooperation. The proposal is designed by the festival Alhambra Monkey Week and has, among other institutions, the support of the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions.

In the presentation of the programming, Del Pozo pointed out that “the ‘Suntracks’ initiative aspires to promote meetings and generate collaboration networks in the field of the music and film industry. It is about promoting contacts, dissemination and, why not, business”. “Times of anxiety and uncertainty are opportunity timeshence Andalusian culture is prepared to contribute its own specificity, its qualities, its boundless talent, but also its capacity for development, economic growth and job creation,” said the Minister of Culture.

Thanks to ‘Suntracks’, a dozen music supervisors will attend nine themed auditions that will take place in historic spaces in Seville, among which the Casa Murillo, the Andalusian Center for Contemporary Arts (CAAC) and the museums of Arts and Popular Customs and Fine Arts. These hearings will be curated by eleven prescribers from the music industry Spanish, offering guests a global image of the history, legacy and present of our popular music. Likewise, these meetings will be open to guests from the national industry, facilitating everyone’s connection with these international ‘music supervisors’.

The international music supervisors that will participate in this first edition of Suntracks are North American Mike Turner, Michael Hill y Alex Menck; the british Connie Farr y Amelia Hartley; the german Pia Hoffman; the French Thibault Deboaisnethe Danish Mikkel Maltha and the mexican Herminio Gutierrez. Among the productions in which they have participated are indie film hits such as ‘Lady Bird’, ‘Under The Silver Lake’ and ‘Amores perro’; television phenomena such as ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Black Mirror’; essential titles of European cinema such as ‘Another round’, ‘Soul Kitchen’ or ‘Les garçons sauvages’, in addition to numerous works, not only for cinema, but also for advertising and other audiovisual fields.

These ‘music supervisors’ will be part of a total of nine sessions, at a rate of three per dayunder themes as disparate as flamenco, traditional music, cult bands, the connection with Latin America, the ‘scores’ of the 60s and 70s, scenes like Movida and Xixon Sound, or electronica and urban, among others, with the purpose of fixing an authentic X-ray of the past, present and future of the Spanish cultural and musical scene. Together with these sessions, which will also have each day a limited capacity for professionals from the sector interested in attending the event and getting in touch with the invited music supervisors, ‘Suntracks’ will have different encounters and sessions of networking.
