The electric flagship, the new BMW iX7, is expected to have a global premiere in New York, Munich and Beijing.

BMW has recently boasted an extensive press release, in which it primarily assesses the economic results for the past year. Among the 353 pages, however, our overseas colleagues from Motor 1 also discovered a report concerning the expected i7 model, a purely electric version of the new generation of the Seven Series.
The carmaker has been attracting us to its arrival with various examples for several weeks, but the new document finally shows that the official premiere will take place in April this year. In addition, it should be a global event that will take place simultaneously in New York, Munich and Beijing.

The carmaker mentions in a press release that the new seven is progressive, digital, innovative and also the only luxury sedan to offer customers a choice between powertrains. “By the way, the most powerful variant – the BMW i7 – is purely electric. During April, we will present it to the world’s most important regions in New York, Munich and Beijing,The report states.
Specific technical parameters are not yet completely certain, but the top BMW i7 is expected to offer the same technology as the BMW iX M60. All-wheel drive should be provided by two electric motors, which in Sport mode will offer a combined output of up to 449 kW and 1100 Nm of torque.
It will be interesting to see what performance the most powerful version of the classic BMW 7 Series with internal combustion engines will offer. BMW ended up with V12 engines, the successor of which could be an electrified V8 engine with an output of around 447 kW under the hood of the BMW 7 Series. So far, however, it is only speculation.

In terms of design, we expect a distinctive mask with a pair of giant kidneys, which will line the apparently divided headlights with LED technology. The already introduced electric SUV BMW iX could be the inspiration for the design. In addition, the carmaker promises that the i7 model will offer a great driving experience, and technology for autonomous driving at the 3rd level is also expected.
In addition to the BMW iX7, whose premiere is only a few weeks away, this year we will have a presentation of the compact electric crossover BMW iX1, by which the carmaker will expand its purely electric offer. Last year’s global sales of BMW electric cars climbed to 103,854 units, which meant a growth of 133.2 percent.
