The BMP Foundation changes its look

HEALTH. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its creation, the Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins Hospital Foundation unveiled its new brand image.

The idea of the tree, which made up the old logo, remains in the new version with the presence of two leaves. These leaves also recall the trees of life on the donor recognition wall installed in the hospital lobby, created in 1997.

“It was important for us to put the donors and the people who support the hospital in the foreground,” said the general manager of the BMP Foundation, Francis Laramée. The tree on the donor recognition wall seen inside the lobby is iconic. This is what guided our first reflection to have leaves as a logo. »

The BMP Foundation recently concluded its major campaign, launched in 2018, during which it raised $5.2 million. It is currently in reflection with the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS in order to identify promising projects to be funded over the next few years.

“Our mission is always to improve our health care,” said Mr. Laramée. It is not the needs that are lacking! It is a matter of aligning with the most urgent needs and identifying a realistic project. »

In addition to unveiling a new logo, the Foundation also took the opportunity to revamp its website.

30th ANNIVERSARY

The Foundation intends to celebrate its 30e anniversary of creation throughout the year via various events.

Moreover, a special recognition event is planned, said Francis Laramée, saying that the details will be known soon.

The beginnings of the Foundation occurred in 1989 when a group of citizens launched a major fundraising campaign for the hospital.

Since then, she has managed to raise no less than $31 million.

Thanks to everyone, we now have, among other things, a recognized birthing ward, an orthopedic clinic that has nothing to envy to other centers in large cities, Baby-Friendly certification and our emergency department to obtain the Age-Friendly certification, recalled the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Patrick Boucher. Today, we are celebrating the Foundation’s 30th anniversary, but we are looking to the future. The needs are always present within the network and the Foundation will be there to meet them. »

ENVIRONMENT

The Foundation is also committed to improving its environmental footprint.

With the current trend, we thought we could do a little more for the environment through our current Foundation practices and our events, said Mr. Laramée. We want to implement actions through a policy, for example, to be more concerned about food waste or reduce the use of single-use plastic. ”
