The champion title was won by New Zealander Samuel Gaze, who finished the 120-kilometer race in four hours, 16 minutes and 51 seconds. The silver medal was earned by German Andreas Seevalds, 16 seconds slower, but the bronze went to Simons Andreasen from home, who was separated from the winner by 57 seconds.

Bloom lost a minute to the champion.

Oskars Muižnieks finished in 22nd place, Lauris Purniņš crossed the line in 64th place, but Māris Bogdanovićs did not reach the finish. 122 finished cyclists.

The MTB Marathon World Championship takes place separately from the Olympic Cross Mountain Bike World Championships, where Bloom in France in late August reached 11th placeand he was also fifth in short cross country.
