Chelsea will face Liverpool from FA Cup Final 2021/2022. The Blues beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the round semifinal.
In the match which was held at Wembley, Sunday (17/4/2022) evening WIB, it took Chelsea more than an hour to score through Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount.
Chelsea also qualified for their third successive FA Cup final and meet Liverpool on May 14.
The course of the match Chelsea vs Crystal Palace
Chelsea, which fielded Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Mason Mount, played attacking since the early minutes. They immediately pressed the Palace defense which was forced to play defensively.
However, there was no golden opportunity created during the first 25 minutes of this match. Palace is still difficult to penetrate by Chelsea’s front row from any side.
The first golden opportunity was born in the 36th minute created by Palace! Eberechi Eze sent a free kick from the left and was not perfectly cleared by Marcos Alonso. Cheikhou Kouyate then greeted him with a volley that could be parried by Edouard Mendy.
Joachim Andersen struck the ball gag near the goal, but his shot hit the post and failed to produce a goal. The score 0-0 closed the first half of the match.
Entering the second half, the game was still the same when Chelsea were more dominant in controlling the ball. But, again they have difficulty creating a dangerous situation in the Palace penalty box.
Palace had another chance in the 61st minute when Eze’s corner headed for Kouyate who headed it towards goal and went wide. In the process, the ball was almost greeted also by Jeffrey Schlupp.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 65th minute when Chelsea took the lead. Their efforts in pressing Palace made Tyrick Mitchell make a pass error in front of the penalty box.
The ball was seized by Chelsea players and ended up at the feet of Havertz who fed it into the middle of the 16 meter area. The ball hit the foot of the Palace player so that it went into Loftus-Cheek’s shooting path and was immediately kicked into the left corner of the goal. The ball had touched Andersen’s body which made Butland unable to reach it.

After that goal, Chelsea increasingly eager to press Palace to make a second goal. The result in the 76th minute, Chelsea doubled the score to 2-0 thanks to Mason Mount.
Mount played 1-2 with Werner on the right side of the Palace defence, before breaking into the box and sending the ball into the left corner of Butland’s goal.

Palace tried to find a goal but instead missed a chance in the 78th minute when Andersen’s header continued his partner’s corner, wide on the right.
Romelu Lukaku almost scored in the 89th minute if the ball had not hit the post. Hakim Ziyech struck a rebound but was still blocked by Palace players.
Score 2-0 closed the game Chelsea vs Crystal Palace which makes the Blue advance to the top party FA Cup.
