Chelsea carrying a comeback mission at headquarters real Madrid. Mateo Kovacic said, Chelsea can emulate the success of the comeback against Napoli.
The Blues will challenge Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg of the quarter-finals Champions League in the middle of this week. Chelsea were faced with a difficult situation after losing 1-3 at Stamford Bridge a week ago.
That defeat means Chelsea need to beat Madrid with a difference of at least three goals to qualify for the semifinals. The real himself is being tough at the Bernabeu after picking up eight wins in his last nine home games in all competitions.
Kovacic believes Chelsea still have hope of qualifying for the top four. The Croatian player felt Chelsea can imitate the success when they reversed the position to get rid of Napoli 4-3 on aggregate in the last 16 of 2011/12.
“We didn’t have our best game and the result was not good in the previous game,” the Chelsea midfielder said in a statement Football.London. “There is still hope and we are motivated to put in our best performance. It will be a quality game and we are looking forward to it.”
