“What we see is quite serious instability in the new coalition, especially on the subject of appointments,” Vice President Iliana Yotova told journalists in Varna.
Her position is that Ms Laurer was the victim of a minister’s “bloody signature”.
As for whether a majority will be gathered for the impeachment of the president, Yotova pointed out that those who call for such a step should ensure it.

Regarding the relations in the ruling coalition, the vice president said that he wants to believe that the Prime Minister Acad Nikolay Denkov will have a man’s word.
“Hopefully, he will strengthen the impression among the Bulgarian citizens that he is the Prime Minister and not Mr. Asen Vasilev”, pointed out Yotova.
Regarding the situation with the chief prosecutor, she commented that it is not serious to approach the Constitution lightly and to change positions quickly and emphasized that there is still no comprehensive proposal for judicial reform in our country.
Yotova expressed hope that there are reasonable and wise people in the parliament who know that when the basic law of the country is touched, it is not for a day or two, but predetermines the life of Bulgarians for generations to come.
Regarding the removal of the chief prosecutor, she also commented that the decision of the Constitutional Court must be waited for first.

Regarding the issuance of a decree by the president on this topic, she indicated that only the head of state can decide when this will happen.
“I can assure you that neither pressure nor emotions will affect him,” Yotova added. According to her, before making a decision, it is necessary to see and carefully evaluate the arguments of the Supreme Judicial Council.
“This will help the president’s position to be sufficiently reasoned, as it was during the appointment of Ivan Geshev,” said Iliana Yotova.
