London, 1781: The image of a terrible crime emerges from the fog of the harbor docks. A male corpse with brand marks. Harry Corsham, who belongs to the upper class, learns that the murdered man is his childhood friend Tad. Memories come to him from times when he and Tad were still full of ideals.
