The blood drive began this Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the morning at the Halles de Carhaix. Due to the health crisis, it is organized according to a specific system. People who wish to donate blood must make an appointment on the website of the French blood establishment (EFS). But neither this constraint, nor the weather, seem to have discouraged the volunteers.
“People respond well. We are expecting 220 people over the two days ”rejoices Patrick Joniaux, president of the Amicale pour le donation du sang in Carhaix and its region. Eight volunteers from the association and around fifteen members of the EFS de Brest are mobilized for the first half-day of fundraising.
Saving snack
The donors were entitled, as always, to a saving snack at the end of the donation. “Here again, a new special device has been put in place. Individual trays are prepared by our volunteers and a distance of two meters must be respected between people ”, indicates Patrick Joniaux.
Simple and united gesture
This winter collection continues this Friday, February 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., still at Les Halles. The Amicale pour le don du sang reminds us that this simple and united gesture saves many lives but also helps the sick.
